NORTHFIELD - Jon Denison is being sued yet again, but this time, the goal isn't money - it's about proving where the city councilor lives.
In papers filed Feb. 19, Andrew Berglund claims the Fourth Ward councilor owes him $1,215 in back rent and damages - money more than three and a half years overdue.
Berglund said he long ago resigned himself to the debt, but given the questions surrounding Denison's residence, decided the best way to disprove the councilor's residency claim was to have him served court papers at his home.
"It's the only way I can legally prove he doesn't live there," Berglund said.
After Denison was evicted from an apartment on Third Street in January and found liable for back rent to a third former landlord, questions about his living arrangements have plagued the councilor.
