A federal search warrant, which until recently has been sealed by court order, reveals evidence of a child pornography distribution operation that authorities say Ernst Luposchainsky, 55, operated out of his home on Eighth Street in Northfield.
According to a story posted late Friday on StarTribune.com , the search warrant revealed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents received information that someone named “Khan Amore” was distributing child pornography on the Web site Hypatia-lovers.com, the story said. Agents traced the site to Luposchainsky, and on July 23, 2008, they executed the search warrant on the home.
According to the Star Tribune story, ICE agents found evidence of chemicals that, when used in combination with others, could be used as weapons. Luposchainsky was not charged at that time and the images on his site were removed, prompting a letter from a fan in Melbourne, Australia, in September 2009 asked what happened to them.
Federal authorities intercepted the letter, which led to Luposchainsky’s indictment in September on federal child pornography distribution charges.
He is currently being held without bail in California, awaiting trial on the charges in U.S. District Court in San Diego, according to the StarTribune.com story.

This makes me sick to my stomach, and so creepy to know that this nut lived just a few doors down from a city park. Where in the world can a child be safe, these days?

I wonder where all the ICE critics are this time. When this story broke, the feds were not looked upon very highly.
For crying out loud, a middle aged guy living in his parent's basement while operating a child porn website. Who would have thought of that?
As much as most of us like to think we know our neighbors, you just really never know who is living next door.
what I don't get is why he is being held in California rather than Minnesota? There must be some details missing in this article.
He is being held in California as that is where he was when he was arrested. The charges are Federal, and not State charges, so it does not matter what Federal court takes jurisdiction or where it is located. The victims of this pornography operation were from all over the country (and world).
hfnorth - thanks for the clarification.
