Rosett makes history in Carleton win

MANKATO — Carleton College senior Bryan Rosett (Cottage Grove, Minn./Park) posted 12 points and became the 23rd member of the 1,000-point club as the Knights (5-4) posted a 69-47 victory over host Bethany Lutheran College on Wednesday in Mankato.

Seth Jonker (Jr./Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) finished with a season-best 21 points to lead all scorers.

Rosett entered the contest with 992 points and increased that sum with five first-half points. His three-pointer at the 7:10 mark of the second half made him just the ninth player in school history to have 1,000 points and 600 rebounds.

With 177 lifetime assists, Rosett could join Dan Forkrud (’06, 246 assists) as the only members of the 1,000-point, 600-rebound, 200-assist club.

“Bryan certainly climbed into a real elite status in the Carleton athletic department tonight,” said head coach Guy Kalland. “In 100 years of Carleton basketball, only 23 Knights have reached the coveted 1,000 point mark and very few have distinguished themselves in the rebounding and assist categories as well. He is a talented, hard working, competitive, and very team-oriented individual who carries himself with class at all times. Bryan has worked hard on his game and has gotten better every single year at Carleton. It was nice to see him hit the shot and receive the recognition from the announcer and the crowd.”

Rosett became the third player in as many seasons to add his name to this prestigious list, joining Tommy Drake ('08) and all-time leading scorer Zach Johnson ('09.)

Carleton is now off until Saturday, Jan. 2, when it travels to Hamline University.
